Las Vegas Raiders announced the firing of general manager Tom Telesco on Thursday (January 9) days after head coach Antonio Pierce was relieved of his duties.
"The Las Vegas Raiders have relieved Tom Telesco of his duties as General Manager. We appreciate his efforts in helping build a foundation for the future. We wish Tom and his family all the best," the Raiders said.
Telesco, 52, was hired by the Raiders last year after serving the same position with the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers from 2003 to 2023. Las Vegas finished the 2024 season with a 4-13 record and currently holds the No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Pierce was hired as full-time head coach last January after an impressive late season run, which included an upset of the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day, following the midseason firing of former head coach Josh McDaniels. The Raiders, however, failed to duplicate that success in 2024, which included a 10-game losing streak.
Las Vegas will now look to hire its fourth full-time head coach since relocating in 2020. The Raiders are the sixth head coaching vacancy to open ahead of the offseason following the New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, Chicago Bears, New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars.
