The first image of the UFO shot down by a United States fighter jet while flying over Canada in February 2023 was shared publicly.
A grainy, blurry photo shows the "cylindrical" object, which was described as a "suspected balloon," flying over the Yukon before being taken out, according to CTV News, which obtained the image through an information request with Canada's Department of National Defence. The UFO was shot by a U.S. F-22 on February 11, 2023, eight days after it was initially spotted flying over Alaska.
The object was tracked by U.S. and Canadian officials as it crossed into Canadian airspace and was shot down by an American pilot using an AIM 9x missile in adherence with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's orders just after 4:50 p.m. local time.
The UFO was previously described as a "small, metallic balloon with a tethered payload" when it was among three other cases of unidentified airborne objects spotted in North America skies between February 10 and 12, which included objects downed over Alaska, the Yukon and Lake Huron. All three objects were reported to be smaller than the suspected Chinese Spy Balloon that crossed the United States, having initially been spotted over Alaska, before being shot down over South Carolina on February 4, 2023.
