At least 30 people were injured when a suspected drunk driver crashed through the side of a building in Arizona on Saturday (September 6) night. The Apache Junction Police Department said that 73-year-old Thomas Edward Kain was leaving Elks Lodge #2349 in Apache Junction when he crashed his pick-up truck through the side wall and into the middle of the building.

"It looks like it was a pretty chaotic scene," Officer Darrin Hatch with the Apache Junction Police told AZFamily. "I can only imagine. I did see surveillance video of the scene, and it looked pretty packed when the incident occurred."

Authorities said that ten people were taken to the hospital, with one person listed in serious but stable condition. Fifteen people were treated at the scene for minor injuries, and five others were transported to the hospital with various injuries.

Miraculously, there were no fatalities.

"Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this incident, and we wish all a speedy recovery," the police department said in a news release.

The Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control is also investigating the incident to determine whether any laws relating to the serving of alcohol were broken.
