Kamala Harris Still Leads 2028 Field for Democrats

As reported at Rasmussen Reports, former Vice President Kamala Harris remains the favorite for the 2028 Democratic Party presidential nomination. It's highly unlikely that Harris will be the Democrat presidential nominee, although many in the GOP would probably want her to be the candidate. If she does run for the nomination it will make for good political theatre as the other candidates will be forced to trash the Biden years, including Harris.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that, if the 2028 primary were held today, 34% of Likely Democratic Primary Voters would vote for Harris, who lost the 2024 election to Donald Trump after former President Joe Biden was forced to quit his reelection campaign
California Governor Gavin Newsom holds second place among 2028 Democratic contenders, with 20% support from likely primary voters.
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg are tied for third place, each with 10% support.
All other potential 2028 Democratic candidates named are in single digits –
o New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (7%)
o New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker (6%)
o Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (3%)
o Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (1%)
