Macon-Bibb commissioners vote to move Confederate statues

Macon-Bibb commissioners voted move Confederate statues from the city's downtown space Tuesday.

The resolution allows the county to move forward on plans to create a plaza at Cotton Ave. and Second St. and to move the Confederate Men of Bibb County Statue there to Whittle Park.

Mayor Reichert says that the removal of the statues would provide a warm and welcoming environment for all. He believes "It is money well spent."
