Joint Chiefs: 'No Modifications' To Transgender Policy

On Wednesday President Trump set off a fire storm of controversy after he tweeted that transgender people would not be allowed to serve in the military in any capacity. The tweet caused confusion, as the military was seemingly caught off guard.

On Thursday, Marine Gen. Joe Dunford sent out a message reassuring the members of the military that the current policy has not changed.

Politico obtained a message General Dunford sent out to top military officials saying that "there will be no modifications to the current policy until the President's direction has been received by the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary has issued implementation guidance."
